Mount Bachelor Star Party

Held at the Sunrise Lodge this year as it has been since
2004, the Mount Bachelor Star Party
was once again well attended with nearly 100 star gazers present.
Weather was sunny and
breezy during
the day, and clear but not "too cold" all four nights.
Tele Vue had a nice
display of scopes and offered free eyepiece trials Friday and Saturday
night.
Sunriver Nature Center, sponsor of the event, had their usual selection
of
telescope accessories available for purchase throughout the event.
Another highlight of this
year's star party was a large Coronado Solar Telescope
set up for public viewing during the afternoon.
This year's prize drawing
was held on Saturday evening, rather than on Sunday morning
as in previous years. Another "first" was a Saturday afternoon swap
meet.
